 I have been working with Steve for over three years now, following the birth of my first child. I was looking for a way to be efficient with my time in the gym and it worked so well! He is a truly excellent and talented trainer. I saw fast results, that I couldn't get by working out on my own...my workout hours got cut in half from when I was working out in the gym on my own to when I started working out with Steve. My muscles and body took a whole new shape .

 

I had been working out for years on my own but never seemed to get my body to look the way I wanted.The workout is different every time so I never get bored and actually look forward to them....even deadlifts!Steve can also work with various different goals, whether it is weight loss, toning, or building strength. My goals have changed over the last 3 years and Steve has adapted the workout to help me meet them. Many times, I find it hard to find time to workout due to a busy job and 2 little kids but Steve makes working out easy and hassle free.

 

He is very flexible with his hours and there have been times when he has been willing to meet me at 7am on a Sunday in order to work with my schedule! He was a great consultant when I was building my home gym and I relied on his expertise on which equipment and pieces to purchase. Steve Jerik has been my personal trainer for 3 years. I became his client in my late 60's when I made the personal decision to improve my physical health and strength. I was surprised how quickly I began to see results--within a month--and became committed to our weekly sessions.In 2012 I had two full knee replacement surgeries which were scheduled four months apart. I credit the conditioning with Steve that put me in the best shape for my rapid recovery and return to mobility. We continued to work together after my release from physical therapy to target those areas that could be improved even more.Steve has the knowledge and expertise to develop a plan for me that is structured, challenging, and interesting. I began working with Steve more than 10 years ago in an effort to keep up with my kids and hold back the march of time just a bit. Even after all this time, Steve has continued to keep me motivated and has helped me stick to a regular fitness routine, working out once a week with him, and two more times on my own. Steve does a good job adjusting the weekly routines as needed when I’ve overdone the snow shoveling and my back is complaining and he knows just how hard to push me to get a vigorous yet satisfying workout. I hadn’t seen the inside of a gym in 10 years. It wasn’t something I enjoyed, and it usually triggered joint pain. I began working with Steve in 2013 after months of physical therapy following knee surgery. I wasn’t gaining all of my strength back and knew I needed to do something more aggressive than my at-home PT exercises. I was apprehensive about working with a trainer, as I needed someone who would respect my knee as well as elbow tendinitis issues. Steve helped me put aside my fears and assured me I could get fit without injury. Steve has a wealth of knowledge of different exercises to target specific muscles groups. There are certain exercises that trigger my elbow pain, and Steve knows which ones I need to avoid. But what I never would have figured out on my own is the alternative exercises he has shown me that work the same targeted muscles. That is why it is so important to work with a knowledgeable and experienced trainer like Steve.                                                                                                                                                                                       In the year I’ve been working with Steve, I’ve strengthened the knee, and have achieved greater range of motion. I’ve gained upper body and arm strength. Steve has pushed me to levels I simply would not have achieved working out on my own. I groan when I see him getting another plate to add to the bar, or taking away the dumbbells after that first set to give me heavier ones, but he knows his clients, and knows when they are ready to progress. That is the motivation and the push that I need!

I have been working with Steve since the fall of 2000. At the time I was preparing for a trip and wanted to get in better shape. Thirteen years later Steve is still my trusted advisor! Steve is always well prepared for our workout and most of our sessions include a total body workout (unless I am concentrating on a certain area). Our workouts are mainly centered around free weights. Steve constantly monitors form to ensure I am getting the maximum results. He continually changes the workout and adds new exercises. The sessions are challenging but we always manage a few laughs as well. Steve is very knowledgeable on the overall subject of body, health and wellness. He shares tips and feedback on proper nutrition. He will review food logs and make recommendations (to include nutritional supplements). I highly recommend Steve Jerik as a personal trainer to anyone interested in increasing their physical conditioning and capabilities. He has a vast knowledge of weight lifting and nutrition. I started working with Steve 6-7 years ago after rehabilitation for a disc strain in my lower back to regain core strength and return to my love of running. I’ve worked with him weekly over the years to build core strength and maintain muscle mass for sustained vitality, fitness – and my vanity! He has continually helped me switch up my lifting routine regularly to rotate focus on specific areas or rebuild after injuries (herniated disc, rotator cuff, ACL reconstruction).
